Your closest town centre is Fareham, which is 4 miles away. There are various ways to get there, including the train which takes only 6 minutes! The Locks Heath centre is 1.4 miles away (28 min walk/7 min cycle) where you can find a Waitrose supermarket, Iceland, McColls convenience store, a bakery, pharmacy, bank, post office, petrol station and florist.
Park Gate is a 10 minute cycle from Tanners Gate and has a Lloyds Bank, HSBC, Takeaways, Cafe’s, Convenience store, including a Post Office. So if you can’t find what you’re looking for at Locks Heath, why not cycle to Park Gate?
Whiteley Shopping Centre is just under a 20 minute cycle away. Whiteley Shopping Centre offers late night shopping until 8pm and has a variety of shops, along with restaurants and cafe’s, such as Topshop, Vision Express, Boots, Frankie & Benny’s, Starbucks and Marks and Spencer’s. Within the immediate vicinity of Titchfield you can reach the Sir Joseph Paxton Pub on Hunts Pond Rd by a 4 minute walk, a McColls on Hunts Pond Rd by an 8 minute walk, a small retail park with an Argos, Dunelm Mill, Furniture Store, Toy Store, PC World, B&Q, Halfords and Pets at Home all within a 20 minute walk or 7 minute cycle.

If you enjoy the convenience of a car but want to save some penny’s and help the environment why not think about car sharing.
Car sharing is when two or more people share a car and travel together. Car-sharing is a simple way to cut the costs of fuel and parking, reduce congestion and pollution, and cut the stress of driving.
Hampshire have a dedicated car-sharing website, hants.liftshare.com where you can search for people to get a lift with or promote yourself as a driver wishing to offer someone a lift.
If you fancy hopping on the train, then Swanwick station is your closest, just under 2 miles away (38 min walk/11 min cycle). From here you can get direct trains to Southampton, Portsmouth, London and Brighton. Perfect for your commute to work, a day out or that weekend away. At Swanwick station there is a car park, sheltered cycle storage, a staffed ticket office for most hours and a waiting room, making it a convenient option for commuters.

If you fancy getting out and about on your bike be that for your commute to work, for exercise or just for fun the map below provide you with information on your local cycle network. This map can be found by visiting Sustrans at http://www.sustrans.org.uk/ncn/map and typing in your postcode. Sustrans is an extremely useful website which helps to enable people to choose healthier, cleaner and cheaper journeys.
Did you know that you live just under a mile away from a National Cycle Route! This route can take you along the Hampshire County coastline and eventually links Dover in Kent to St Austell, In Cornwall (Don’t worry, we don’t expect you to do that, its nearly 320 miles!). Why not hop on your bike and cycle to Southampton or Portsmouth via the ferry’s. Fareham Borough Council (FBC) offer their own cycle route map here. This map includes places of interests, and bicycle storage locations as well as routes.
Eastleigh Borough Council (EBC) also offer an interactive cycle mapping website, whilst your home is not in EBC, cycle routes may take you there this map could prove useful.

There has been an update in your local bus services. The X4 route has slightly changed, this route can now only be accessed by Warsash Rd. The changes made to this service have made the service even more reliable, with an increase in frequency!
From your home in Tanners Gate you can access the First Hampshire X4 route on Warsash Road at the Locks Heath Recreation Ground (head South on Hunts Pond Road, at the end of the road turn right. A bus stop will be on either side of this road (Warsash Road)).
