Southampton City Centre is only a 15 minute cycle away, or is linked to Compass Point by Bluestar bus route number 4 or First Hampshire route numbers 1 and 12 (See below for more information). However, within closer proximity to your home at Compass Point are a number of schools (including primary and secondary), Romsey Rd shops, a Tesco supermarket in Millbrook, Southampton General Hospital and David Lloyd Leisure Centre.
The bus routes link the site to the Southampton Central railway station. The station is primarily served by South West Trains, operating direct services to London Waterloo including stops at Winchester, Basingstoke, Woking and Clapham Junction.
The station is also serviced by First Great Western, Southern and Cross Country trains operating to the west (Bristol, Cardiff, Salisbury, Bournemouth and Romsey), the east (Brighton and Portsmouth) and the north (Birmingham and Manchester)

The local bus network offers convenient routes to most local destinations and, with frequent services, this could be the travel mode for you! Buses run regularly all through the day, so whether you need to get to work, the shops or pick up the children from school the bus could be the best way for you!
The closest bus stop to your home is on Maybush Corner, although bus stops located at Millbrook Estate, Barrowdale are also within close proximity. At these stops you can get the Blue Star bus route number 4 and First Hampshire bus route numbers 2 and 12.

If you fancy getting out and about on your bike for your commute to work, for exercise or a leisurely activity, the map below provides you with information on your local cycle network. The green routes are traffic free, whilst the purple routes show on road cycle routes.
This map can be found by visiting Sustrans and typing in your postcode. Sustrans is an extremely useful website which helps to enable people to choose healthier, cleaner and cheaper journeys.

Did you know that you live close to National Cycle Route 236? This route is traffic free, and runs between Cosham and Porchester, prefect for a leisurely weekend cycle. It then restarts in Southampton City Centre where there are ferry links to the Isle of Wight and Hythe. On leaving Southampton, the route travels past city parks and heads west to Totton and Ashurst before arriving in Lyndhurst. The section between Totton and Ashurst is the quietest and takes you to the centre of the New Forest with its shops, cafes and all facilities and Visitor Centre.
