From today, Park and Ride Portsmouth will be running a new ‘PR2’ service alongside the existing PR1 service. PR1 will run the usual route from the terminal down to the Hard Interchange, while the brand-new route PR2 will accommodate the university area of the city. The new PR2 service, running every half hour from the M275 Park & Ride terminal, will travel to Commercial Road (Stand B) and the civic offices (Stand M on Isambard Brunel Road) before stopping on Winston Churchill Avenue and Cambridge Road for university buildings. The PR2 service will run from 7am until 8pm Monday to Friday only with the last bus from Cambridge Road departing at 7.44pm. Daily tickets are charged at the same rate as the usual service, £4 per car (of up to five people travelling together) and all Park & Ride smartcard products are valid. For more information and the full timetable visit the Park and Ride website:
Park and Ride Portsmouth offers sustainable bus services for visitors, commuters and students alike, utilising bus lanes throughout the city centre to reduce journey times into Portsmouth. The service also offers a cheaper car parking charge alternative than that of city centre car parks, on-street car parking and Gunwharf Quays car park meanwhile, reducing the number of private cars on Portsmouth’s Roads, therefore easing congestion and reducing total carbon emissions.
