Transport for London (TfL) are challenging app designers to make sure they are using their up-to-date cycling data, which indicates safe cycling routes. According to TfL this data will allow apps to accurately represent current routes, whilst also providing accurate and up to date information on cycle parking.
There are estimated to be over 600 apps that use TfL’s data to help Londoners and visitors get around the city, whether it is by bike, bus, rail or tube.
TfL believe that making this data available to designers will help to ensure that routes suggested to cyclists are safe and accessible.
Make the most of the update this weekend by taking a trip to London! If you don’t want to bring your bike on the train make the most out of the Santander bikes, which are accessible throughout London.
