The UK was found to be the third worse country in Europe for Traffic congestion this year according to Inrix’s most recent traffic congestion report. Inrix collected traffic information from sat-navs, mobile phones and road sensors throughout September 2016 from cities with populations of 250,000 people or more.
The results indicate that in the UK there are 20,375 traffic hotspots across 21 cities, with the most congested city being London. As a result of congestion, the average driver is anticipated to spend 32 hours a year stuck in traffic! These figures further demonstrate the attractiveness of using public transport as an alternative to car usage.
So why not escape the congestion on the road by using your local bus and rail services or even more active methods such as cycling. If you have any tips for travelling by bus, bike or train let us know!
