A £344 million expansion to London City Airport has been approved! The ambitious programme includes the erection of an extended terminal, seven new aircraft taxi stands and upgraded public transport links. The plans will look to strengthen the airports status, by creating over 2,000 jobs and decreasing airport delays.
The best part about this scheme is that it will make London City Airport even more accessible by public transport. An extension of the Dockland Light Railway (DLR) is proposed alongside a bus and taxi scheme and improvements to the airport’s walking and cycling routes. So if you want to escape the traffic or those expensive airport parking fees, you will soon be able to get there on foot, by DLR, by cycling or by bus!
If we’ve made you want to escape the traffic this summer, why not see how you can get to and from south east airports by bus, train and cycle.
